Academic Graduate Program in Bioethics, Applied Ethics, and Public Health

The Postgraduate Program in Bioethics, Applied Ethics, and Public Health (PPGBIOS), launched in 2010, is a broad association between the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), and the Fluminense Federal University (UFF). Its general objective is to train professionals for higher education teaching and high-level research. The program emphasizes a strong dialogue with other fields of knowledge within its participating institutions and maintains an ongoing dialogue with Public Health, Philosophy, and Law, as well as international collaborations, positioning Brazil within the global bioethics debate.
