Ph.D

The doctoral program at PPGSP, which started its first class in 1980, aims to train professionals capable of proposing and conducting scientific research focused on the production of critical and new knowledge in the field of Public Health, as well as preparing them for teaching in higher education and graduate programs.

The program has a semi-tutorial structure and is linked to the Program´s concentration areas. The academic pathway includes mandatory common courses, with the possibility of individualized training trajectories based on the student's thesis topic and the research area/line in which they are engaged.

The doctoral program spots at PPGSP are filled through an annual competitive selection process. Selected candidates then join their advisor's research area/line.
