Professional Doctorate

In 2023, the approval of the new Professional Doctorate (PD) program was celebrated by CAPES. This achievement was made possible through the dedication of many individuals from the institution, including faculty, coordinators of the professional master´s classes, technical support staff, and the leadership of ENSP´s Education Department and Fiocruz.

The professional doctorate expands public health education by incorporating the structural dimensions of the field, namely: (1) Public Policies, Planning, Management, and Health Care; (2) Epidemiology; and (3) Social Sciences in Public Health, which are reflected in the proposed PD curriculum. These dimensions guided the selection of six mandatory courses, as well as elective and flexible activities, allowing students to tailor their educational paths according to their cohort profile, personal interests, and academic advising.
